Randonautica Leads to Dead Body in Viral TikTok

Have you ever wanted to go on a road trip? Something small, spur of the moment, with no real destination in mind? Did you know that there’s an app for that? Meet Randonautica, the app that lets you set a distance radius, and then gives you random coordinates. It’s up to you whether you want to take the trip, and for many during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a way to pass the time when everything was closed. For one group, heading out to those random coordinates ended with a grisly discovery.

David McGreavy, the Friday the 13th Killer

Imagine this – it’s a typical evening, and you’re at work. Your children are home, in the care of a man who has taken care of them numerous times. He loves the children, and has always been a reliable sitter. Your husband picks you up from work, and when you get home, your house is surrounded by police. You’re not allowed to see what’s going on, instead you’re stopped and told that there’s been a murder. You go to the police station, where you learn that it was your children that had been murdered; that the man who was left to care for them killed them in such a brutal manner that you would never be allowed to even see their bodies. This happened in 1973 when Elsie and Clive Ralph left David McGreavy to care for their three young children.

The Sausage Ghost of Chicago

While the name may sound made up, I assure you the tale is anything but. In Chicago, Illinois, on the south side of the 1700 block of West Diversey Parkway, you will find residential condominiums. But it wasn’t always that way. Once that area was home to a factory – a sausage factory to be precise, and now home to the Sausage Ghost.

Murder Without Motive and the Kidnapping of Jayme Closs

It’s dark and cramped. You can’t sit up and rolling over is impossible. Unable to escape, you stare up at the bottom of the bed, wondering what was going to happen next. Your stomach growls, but no one cares. It’s probably for the best since there aren’t any bathroom breaks. Sure, you could push one of the crates out of the way and slip out – except he’d know. He’d know you tried to leave. You’re Jayme Closs and you’re trapped.

The Woodchipper Murder of Newtown Connecticut

When I was in school, I took a drama class. My favorite improv game was “Death in a Minute…” where the audience shouts out absurd things, and the actors have one minute to improv their death; for example, “death by Choco Taco!” This case includes death and a woodchipper – which sounds like something out of the movie Fargo, but for Helle Nielsen, was all too real.

Minnie Dean, the Baby Farmer

At a time when having a child out of wedlock was frowned upon, a time when abortion wasn’t an option. A time when contraception was either non-existent or difficult to come by. In the late 1800’s in New Zealand, this was a problem for many women. Fortunately, there was a woman willing and able to step up, step in, and help out. Introducing Minnie Dean, the Baby Farmer.

What’s in the Water: Carmen Esparza

Water is the essence of life. Approximately 60% of the human body is made up of water. A person can only survive 3-4 days without water. Today, we have the convenience of buying bottled water, or getting it from the tap at home. Sure, we know what’s in our water when it comes with a label, but what about when it doesn’t?

Who Killed The Black Dahlia?

On the morning of January 15, 1947, the body of Elizabeth Short, known primarily as the black dahlia, was found in a vacant lot on the west side of South Norton Avenue, midway between Coliseum Street and West 39th Street in Leimert Park, Los Angeles. She was naked, her body severed into two pieces and drained of blood. To this day, her murder remains unsolved.
