The Mysterious Case of Bobby Bizup

August 15, 1958, Bobby Bizup, age 10, was fishing down by Cabin Creek, while attending summer camp at St. Malo Retreat; a camp organized by the Catholic Church. At approximately 6pm, a camp counselor approached Bobby and informed him it was time for dinner. The two of them walked down the hill, back toward the camp, the counselor noting Bobby was just behind him. Yet, when he reached the camp and turned back again, Bobby was gone.

The Cure for Cancer

Cancer has touched all our lives in one way or another. We hear about it all the time, but to be honest, who truly knows what cancer is?

Cancer is a name given to a broad group of diseases, all of which involve abnormal cell growth with potential to invade other parts of the body. There are over 100 types of cancers, all of which affect human beings. It is estimated that in 2018, 1,735,350 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States alone, and another 609,640 people will die as a result.

Torture: The Iron Maiden

An upright sarcophagus with a hinged door evoked fear in those who were threatened with being placed inside. The Iron Maiden was often designed to look like a woman on the outside; some were even made to resemble the Virgin Mary. It was the inside that you had to worry about. Small spikes protruded from the back and the door, strategically placed to pierce the eyes and other vital organs, but not long enough to cause instant death. Instead, the victim would be left inside to slowly bleed out over several hours.

Bob Crane: What Happened to Hogan’s Hero?

Bob Crane was an American actor, known most for his starring role in the CBS sitcom, Hogan’s Heroes. On June 29, 1978, he was found bludgeoned to death in his Scottsdale, AZ apartment. To date, his murder remains officially, unsolved.

The Sluagh

The Sluagh, pronounced SLOO-AH, are an Irish group of creatures, most commonly depicted as fae, or fairies, gone wild. Most believed them to be an otherworldly race with no loyalty, no mercy, and stealers of the immortal souls of the living. Once human, these creatures, or phantoms, were so evil, that they were even rejected from Hell itself.

Saved by the Bell: Buried Alive

Saved by the Bell is more than just a 90’s teen television series. It is an expression given to those who were buried alive, and were fortunate enough to have a safety coffin; a coffin with a line that ran up to the surface with a bell attached. When you pulled the line, the bell would ring, and you would be dug up and rescued.

The legend of Eyeless Jack

On June 7, 2010, a photograph of Eyeless Jack was posted on 4chan by user Arnon. The post was titled Nightmare Fuel and included other images as well, including creatures from video games. As was the case with Slenderman, the picture came first, and then the story. On February 25, 2012, Wikia user Azelf5000, known on YouTube as Papa Pinche.

The Unsolved Hinterkaifeck Murders

March 31, 1922, five members of the Gruber family, and their maid were murdered on their farm. Over the next four days, the killer remained in their home, using the fireplace, cooking and eating the family’s food, and even fed and milked the cattle. To this day, no one knows for sure who is responsible for the Hinterkaifeck murders.
