The Tragic Murder of Tristyn Bailey

Mother’s Day is that one day of the year where everyone gathers to show their appreciation for the moms in their life. A day where mothers are in the spotlight, for being moms. Mother’s Day 2021 was no exception in the Bailey home. Everyone was awake, the kids were making breakfast, there was just one thing missing. Where was Tristyn Bailey?

Have you ever wanted to go on a road trip? Something small, spur of the moment, with no real destination in mind? Did you know that there’s an app for that? Meet Randonautica, the app that lets you set a distance radius, and then gives you random coordinates. It’s up to you whether you want to take the trip, and for many during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a way to pass the time when everything was closed. For one group, heading out to those random coordinates ended with a grisly discovery.

David McGreavy, the Friday the 13th Killer

Imagine this – it’s a typical evening, and you’re at work. Your children are home, in the care of a man who has taken care of them numerous times. He loves the children, and has always been a reliable sitter. Your husband picks you up from work, and when you get home, your house is surrounded by police. You’re not allowed to see what’s going on, instead you’re stopped and told that there’s been a murder. You go to the police station, where you learn that it was your children that had been murdered; that the man who was left to care for them killed them in such a brutal manner that you would never be allowed to even see their bodies. This happened in 1973 when Elsie and Clive Ralph left David McGreavy to care for their three young children.

The Atrocities of the Toolbox Killers

It’s so cliché to talk about the serial killer’s van, the stereotypical “white van” used to pick up unsuspecting victims. In this story, the killers used a van, only theirs was silver-gray. Was that one tiny detail enough to give women the tiniest sense of relief when it pulled up beside them? Color of the van aside, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris still claimed their fair share of victims. Together they became known as the Toolbox Killers and are regarded to this day as having committed the most atrocious crimes.

His friends called him “Lucky,” but one has to question whether Richard John Bingham, the 7th Earl of Lucan, commonly known as Lord Lucan, was even close to being lucky. And to top it all off, he is forever remembered for disappearing without a trace, suspected of attacking his wife, and murdering the nanny.

Michael McCormick and the McCormick Murder Farm

In the 1980’s, cell phones weren’t a thing. People used land lines, and wrote letters. Truckers had CB Radios, but those were basically fancy walkie-talkies. So when 60 year old trucker Herbert Donoho disappeared on August 30, 1983, there really wasn’t a good way to track down his whereabouts. After all, he was supposed to be heading to Wheat Ridge Colorado for lunch with friends, not in Stratton at the McCormick farm.

The Legend of Inunaki Village

Located in the countryside of Kyushu’s Fukuoka Prefecture, lies the lost Inunaki village, a place that exists apart from civilization as we know it. In fact, when you come to the entrance to the village, you will be greeted by signs warning that “the constitution and laws of Japan do not apply here.” Today, Inunaki village and the Old Inunaki Tunnel are considered to be one of the most haunted locations in all of Japan.

The Vampire of Düsseldorf

Children are young and impressionable. They are innocent, and deserve our protection. Many would argue that parents are the first line of defense, while others will point out that some parents aren’t fit to take care of someone so precious. One thing I think both parties will agree with, is that no child should be a victim of sexual exploitation.

Joshua Komisarjevsky, known for his part in the Cheshire Murders, was born on August 10, 1980 to a mother who was just 16 years old, and his father, a boy just barely out of his teens.
