Throughout history cats have made their mark. Going back to ancient Egypt, cats were revered. They played such a big role in their culture, that the mere export of cats was strictly prohibited. Further evidence can be seen in their goddess Bastet, commonly depicted as a cat, or woman with a cat’s head. Bastet was the keeper of hearth and home, a guardian against evil spirits and disease. Today, cats are mere pets, part of the family, or even bad luck, if you cross their path. Whether you love cats or hate them when it comes to the game, “Cat Scratch” it doesn’t matter.
How to play:
2 or more players
You will need:
- A quiet space
- A pillow
- The Cat Scratch Stories
How to play:
Player 1, the story-teller, will take a seat, cross-legged on the floor with the pillow in their lap. Player 2, the victim, will lay down on their back, their head on the pillow. Any additional players will sit, forming a circle around player 1 and player 2.
The story-teller will soothingly rub the temples of the victim in a soothing motion. Then the story-teller will tell them a story (story choices located at the end).
At the end of the story, the victim will have to get up quickly and check their back. There should be light red “cat scratches” visible.
With more than 2 players, take turns being the “story-teller” and the “victim.”
